We’re delighted to share that FoRCE has been successful in our application to the Woodland Trust’s ‘Community Tree Pack’ scheme. This means that, in November, we will receive a free supply of native hedge plants to support our ongoing Hedgerow Project. These plants will be used to continue our planting on the Esplanade Gardens, started in 2025.
The plants will play an important role in our ambitions to create richer habitats — providing shelter, food and nesting opportunities for birds, insects and other wildlife, while also improving the aesthetics of the park. Well-designed native hedgerows are one of the most valuable habitats we can create in an urban setting. We hope many of you will be able to get involved with the planting when the time comes.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our hedgerow work so far — this success builds directly on your efforts. Our thanks especially to Terri, our Partnerships Lead, for making the successful application.
