Our May volunteer morning was one of those sessions that reminds you why volunteering is worth getting out of bed for. The sun was out, the air was fresh, and the mood was light, with close to thirty volunteers gathered on the Esplanade for a couple of hours of genuinely satisfying work.

Our intrepid volunteers gathered once again for a multitude of activites including litter picking, sea wall plant growth management and tree canopy lopping, once again achieving a splendid amount within the two hour session.

Medway Council has opened a public consultation on the first phase of improvements to Esplanade Gardens, focusing on a complete refurbishment of the children’s play area.

We held our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 16th September at Rochester Community Hub, where it was fantastic to see such support from our members, councillors, and the Medway Greenspaces team.

Our brand-new Hedgerow Project is officially underway! During one of our regular volunteer sessions, a hardworking team of FoRCE volunteers gathered to start the first stage of the project by digging a 50-metre trench along the fence by Hathaway Court.

Our partners at Medway Council have informed us a contractor has been selected, and a commencement date scheduled, for essential survey work to be carried out on Rochester Pier, which will hopefully pave the way for our major restoration project to continue.
