Wildlife Lead

We’re looking for a Wildlife Lead to help FoRCE develop and deliver small-scale wildlife projects across Churchfields and the Esplanade. This role focuses on practical, visible initiatives that support local biodiversity while helping people understand and value the wildlife around them.

Do you have a passion for our native wildlife? Could you lead our small-scale wildlife projects and help encourage biodiversity in Churchfields and Esplanade Gardens?

This is a flexible role suited to someone with an interest in wildlife and conservation who enjoys planning projects, working with volunteers and turning good ideas into tangible outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, plan and help deliver small-scale wildlife projects, such as bird boxes, insect habitats and wildlife-friendly signage
  • Act as the lead for specific initiatives, for example developing a programme of bird box installation across our sites
  • Work with the committee to agree priorities, locations and approaches for wildlife projects Involve volunteers in installation, basic monitoring and ongoing care
  • Help shape simple, engaging interpretive content so people understand the purpose and benefits of each project Provide updates to the committee on progress, outcomes and future opportunities

What You’ll Need

  • An interest in wildlife, biodiversity or conservation (formal qualifications are welcome but not required)
  • A practical, organised approach to planning and delivering small projects
  • Confidence working with volunteers in an outdoor setting
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with the committee and other role holders
  • Awareness of basic wildlife good practice, or a willingness to learn
